ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Tuscarawas mechanical and electrical engineering technology students successfully collaborated on their capstone project during the spring semester and delivered an electric cart on finals night. The tragic events that occurred on the campus of ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ on May 4, 1970, where four students lost their lives and nine others were wounded by the Ohio National Guard, had a lasting impact that continues to resonate nearly a half-century later. ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ public relations students placed second nationally for their PR campaign that focused on boosting funding for childhood cancer research.

Only 4 percent of federal funding is directed to childhood cancer research, leading to a scarcity of clinical trials advancing treatment. In order to address this inequity in childhood cancer funding, ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ public relations students implemented a plan focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ and at the Bio-Med Science Academy in Rootstown, Ohio.
