This year marks two significant anniversaries at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ - the 100th anniversary of Undergraduate Student Government and the 40th anniversary of Kent Student Ambassadors. To celebrate this special occasion, we are honoring these organizations through the 2024 Homecoming Theme: A Legacy of Leadership.

The ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ alumni family will grow by more than 1,000 new graduates as the university holds its summer commencement ceremony on Aug. 10.
ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ recently concluded its most successful fundraising campaign in its 114-year history. The Forever Brighter campaign ended in June 2024, having raised more than $383.2 million total.
When longtime ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ journalism professor Susan Zake decided to pursue a new career with the non-profit online news source, Signal Akron, she made a hiring list from the many ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ graduates she had mentored over her 17-year career.
In 2020, ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ President Todd Diacon announced to a group of high school juniors and their families that ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ would cover four years of tuition costs and one year of room and board. Now, for the LeBron James Family Foundation’s first I PROMISE class, the hard work these students had put in since third grade is paying off.
The ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ alumni family grew by nearly 5,200 new graduates as the university held its 2024 Spring Commencement ceremonies.
Drawn to healthcare as a child, Athalia James pursued that passion all the way to a fulfilling career in nursing.
