The School of Art at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ provides abundant opportunities for graduate students to advance their skills in visual art. 

We offer the only M.F.A. program in northeast Ohio, and are the only public institution in the state to offer this breadth of studio specialties. 

Degree Program Offerings

Studio Art – M.F.A. and M.A.

M.F.A. students may choose a concentration in Ceramics, Drawing, Glass, Painting, Jewelry/Metals/Enameling, Print Media and Photography, Sculpture and Expanded Media, or Textiles.

Students may specialize in geographic regions—including African, American, Asian, or European art—or historic periods—including Medieval, Renaissance, Modern, or Contemporary art.

Our graduate application deadline for Fall 2025 admission has passed and we are no longer accepting applications with funding.  If you have questions about an unfunded M.A. degree, please contact the Graduate Coordinator of the School of Art, Professor Shawn Powell at spowel31@kent.edu. The Fall 2026 application cycle will open in September.
