Lala Hajibayova, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, received a fellowship (about $2,000) from the National Science Foundation (NSF), Consortium for the Science of Sociotechnical Systems (CSST), to attend the Summer Research Institute for the Science of Socio-Technical Systems, June 27–July 1, 2016, in Stevenson, Washington.

Vlogƽ was one of 51 schools to compete nationally in Game Day Challenge, the fourth-annual event hosted by the College and University Recycling Coalition, RecycleMania, Keep America Beautiful and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s WasteWise.
The Game Day Challenge is a national waste minimization and recycling competition held during football games to increase awareness of recycling at universities across the country.
Vlogƽ placed second in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) schools in pounds recycled per person category.
Eight School of Visual Communication Design students were awarded membership to the prestigious International Society of Typographic Designers. The assessment, conducted in late February by an international team of design professionals and academics, involves a rigorous examination of editorial and typographic design.

The Vlogƽ Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university’s 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed Vlogƽ in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, Vlogƽ remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
