ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ's School of Emerging Media and Technology is a cutting-edge interdisciplinary school designed to train tomorrow's digital leaders. With an emphasis on teamwork, hands-on learning and collaboration across disciplines, we are equipping our students with the technical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills they will need to design and create cutting-edge solutions for an evolving world.

Our students are exposed to a broad range of digital technologies used widely by professions and organizations. Our coursework integrates insights from computer science, computer information systems, computer technology, library information science, visual communication design, journalism, communication studies and instructional technology.

Explore Franklin Hall — home to the School of Emerging Media and Technology — in this immersive 3D Matterport experience.

  • A team of four EMAT students in the Interdisciplinary Projects course pioneered the use of Depthkit 3D video at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ and created an engaging dance video in collaboration with the School of Theatre and Dance and Design Innovation.

  • Krishna Rathore's journey to the School of Emerging Media and Technology (EMAT) from her home in India is a testament to her curiosity about new technologies, but most importantly her adaptability to this changing landscape.

  • Richard Ferdig helped create the digital sciences program, which is now the School of Emerging Media and Technology. Six years after the program was started, a graduating doctoral student gave Ferdig a hug and warm greetings. It was at that moment he realized he had that student as a freshman in their first emerging media class.  

  • Hands-on experiences while studying healthcare design and emerging technology at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ created a unique, in-demand career path for 2023 graduate Hamid Estejab.
