Our students are exposed to a broad range of digital technologies used widely by professions and organizations. Our coursework integrates insights from computer science, computer information systems, computer technology, library information science, visual communication design, journalism, communication studies and instructional technology.

The Future of Video is Here, Now

A team of four EMAT students in the Interdisciplinary Projects course pioneered the use of Depthkit 3D video at ��Vlog�ƽ�� and created an engaging dance video in collaboration with the School of Theatre and Dance and Design Innovation.

EMAT Faculty Wins Distinguished Teaching Award

Richard Ferdig helped create the digital sciences program, which is now the School of Emerging Media and Technology. Six years after the program was started, a graduating doctoral student gave Ferdig a hug and warm greetings. It was at that moment he realized he had that student as a freshman in their first emerging media class.
