Women of the House: Betty Sutton and Emilia Sykes
In 2006, Betty Sutton became the first ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ alumna to serve in the U.S. Congress, when she was elected to represent Ohio’s 13th District in the House of Representatives. Sixteen years later, ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ alumna Emilia Sykes, a native of Akron, Ohio, was elected to represent the same district, making her the first Black ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ alum to serve in the House of Representatives.
