Turmoil from recent wars and tragedies causes millions to be displaced from their homes every year. This year is no exception with the intensifying conflict in Ukraine, forcing millions of refugees to find safety elsewhere. Not only do these refugees need shelter, but they also need education and the opportunity to have new life experiences in different countries.

Recent Graduate Chazzlyn Jackson Honed her Passion for Social Justice Activism at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ
When recent Undergraduate Student Government (USG) President Chazzlyn Jackson started her journey at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ in 2018, she had planned to major in fashion until a mentor with Kupita/Transiciones (K/T) cultural orientation program helped her tap into her leadership abilities and passion for social justice issues. The advice played a pivotal role for Jackson, who stepped into leadership roles and anti-racism advocacy and has not looked back.

Best Friends Graduate From ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ at the Age of 18
During ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æâ€™s spring 2022 commencement on May 14, Jameson Payne will earn his bachelor’s degree in integrative studies with concentrations in physics and political science. Benjamin Wales-McGrath will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in cellular and molecular biology at the age of 18.

After a 21-year absence, Chagrin Falls resident James Reinart will be crossing the stage at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æâ€™s spring commencement ceremonies on May 14, 2022, to become a Golden Flash alumnus.

Student Trustee Dylan Mace Recognized by ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ Board of Trustees and Fraternal Association
Leadership roles in the Interfraternity Council and Delta Tau Delta Fraternity served as preparation for Dylan Mace's service on the ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ Board of Trustees when Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine appointed him in July 2020. Mace’s two-year term, in which he served as a member of the Board’s Academic Excellence and Student Success Committee and the Finance and Administration Committee, will expire May 16, 2022.

Career and Community Studies and the Bursar’s Office Partner to Help Students Develop Workplace Skills
ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æâ€™s Career and Community Studies (CCS) program has partnered with the Bursar’s Office to provide opportunities for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to develop professional skills and help them transition into the workforce. Ellie McGregor, a fourth-year student currently in her final semester in the CCS program, has found great success and made solid contributions in the office while honing her business skills. She is an example of what this program can do for students.

National Public Radio (NPR) has whittled down and decided on the college finalists in its College Podcast Challenge. ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ at Ashtabula Human Services Technology associate lecturer and journalism student Joan Steidl is one of ten students from across the country who became finalists.
