Erin Simonek and Madison Tromler may be familiar faces if you watch the local evening news in Youngstown.
Both are alumnae of ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ’s journalism program who graduated in 2020 and said having a degree from ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ helped set them apart from the competition when they began their job searches.
Today, they are news anchors and multimedia journalists with 21 WFMJ-TV and credit the real-world training they experienced while studying at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ for their immediate success after graduation.
Simonek and Tromler sat down with ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Today to talk about their experiences in the university’s journalism program and how it prepared them to hit the ground running within the first week on the job.
