Catie Woodward is a third-year honors student from Canton, Ohio, majoring in nursing. Though she has had many other accomplishments in her time at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ, Catie’s most recent success was performing undergraduate research in the nursing program.

Originally from Tallmadge, Ohio, Heather credits the Honors College for helping her find opportunities that related to her professional interests. Honors College Senior Completes Capstone Project Tracking Mental Wellbeing
Nick Potts is an upcoming spring 2021 graduate of the ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Honors College. He is a computer science major. Potts said he decided to come to ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ because of the feeling he got when he stepped on the campus. He considered it a home away from home feeling.

Student Completes Senior Honors Thesis Combining Fashion And Finance Majors
Gabriella Humes is a senior Honors College student graduating with a double-major in fashion merchandising and finance. Gabriella has been very successful at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ, completing an internship and three study away programs. However, one of Gabriella’s proudest accomplishments is recently completing a Senior Honors Thesis that combined both of her majors into one project.

May 4 Commemoration Offers Many Virtual Events for Participation
Members of the ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ community and people around the world will gather virtually for the 51st Commemoration of May 4, 1970, the day the Ohio National Guard fired on ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ students during an anti-war protest, killing four and wounding nine others.

Honors College Senior Reflects on His College Career and Journalism Experience
Sean Fitzgerald is a senior honors student, graduating with a major in journalism and a minor in sports administration. Originally from Strongsville, Ohio, Sean says that the Honors College has come to feel like a second home in his four years at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ. In fact, Sean recalls moving back to the Stopher-Johnson honors residence halls in the fall of 2020 and accidentally saying to his family, “I’m headed home!â€

Third Generation Honors College Student Earns Full Ride to Georgia Institute of Technology For Graduate Program
Jacob Grant, ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Honors College student, is a senior aerospace engineering major with a minor in physics. Grant graduated from Edison High School in Milan, OH in 2017. After a late medical disqualification from the Air Force Academy, he chose to attend ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ. Grant is a third generation ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Honors College student. His grandmother studied Spanish at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ and his mother studied education. Both were members of the Honors College.

Virtual Events Promote Peace, Anti-Racism as ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Marks the Annual Commemoration of May 4, 1970
To honor and remember the events that occurred on May 4, 1970, virtual events and exhibits hosted by ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ students, faculty and staff are scheduled from April 30 through May 4. The virtual events include several powerful speakers and events that promote peace and anti-racism and educate future students about the legacy of May 4, 1970.
